April and May 2025: Progressive Youth of MS team members attended the partners for rural impact annual summit to coordinate the deep dive session held on the last day (a breakout session formulated by the youth that assembled in Haley Farm last summer + 6 Alaskan Native youth).

IAJE came back energized after spending a week in Anchorage, Alaska and being immersed in the indigenous cultures. As a result of this immersive experience, we are in the process of designing a cultural exchange project hosted by IAJE to foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous identity through the interconnected pillars of language, food sovereignty, and art.

May 2025: The IAJE team is committed to revolutionizing the landscape of community health through proactive engagement and education. At our recent informational clinic in Laurel, MS, we showcased the power of collective effort in improving asthma management via our unique Promotoras de Salud Program. This innovative initiative not only brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds but also created a dynamic exchange between community members and health professionals.

Our team of dedicated Promotoras delved into the complexities of asthma care, emphasizing critical areas such as understanding medications, recognizing triggers, and implementing emergency strategies. This thorough approach not only equips participants with practical tools but also fosters a culture of empowerment and awareness.

By spearheading initiatives like this clinic, we are redefining health education, bridging gaps, and instilling a sense of community ownership over health issues. Our goal is clear: to elevate health outcomes through shared knowledge and collaboration, ultimately nurturing a vibrant, healthier community for everyone.
